How To Become A Better Photographer
Become A Better Photographer And Human: Watch TED Videos
I recently stumbled upon a wealth of YouTube TEDtalks lecture videos (TED website + YouTube Channel) which are intellectually refreshing and stimulating gems perhaps best way I could describe them as superfood for thought.
TED calls them “Inspired talks by the world’s leading thinkers and doers”.
In this post I will be recommending videos that involve photos and photography just to stay somewhat on topic for this blog but TED’s wide variety of subject matter has something for everyone with wanderlust.

Ashes And Snow Books Posters And Music By Photographer Gregory Colbert
I was lucky to stumble upon the Ashes And Snow website of Canadian photographer Gregory Colbert who I think is one of the most unique and best visual artist in the world.
It is a very special treat to visit Gregory Colbert’s website, to experience his exhibitions, photos, posters and videos. The viewer will be taken on a journey of wisdom, beauty and innocence.
The incredible visuals of the YouTube videos later in this post are best watched as full screen HD with the lights off and listened to using headphones. Relax and enjoy the voyage!

Finding Amazing Beauty Inside A Mouse’s Colon – Photomicrography
The Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition website is a great place to appreciate the stunning beauty of the natural world on a really small scale.
I decided to feature a microscopic photography website as soon as I laid my eyes on the 1st Place Winner of 2006 the fantastic blue image (seen above) of the “Cell nuclei of the mouse colon” (740x).
My co-worker next to me was ready to puke.
I love that photo so much I would hang it on my wall! To each their own. :)
Helmut Newton’s SUMO – The Largest And Greatest Photography Book
“In my book” Helmut Newton is the greatest photographer!

Model Photography And The Gift Of Rejection
The black and white conversion of this photo taken on the Waikiki Beach pier is quite dramatic, I like that!
But while playing around with the above picture in Photoshop I realized the photo is probably much better because it was taken from behind the boy compared to a frontal shot.
Looking at the boy’s back I started to think of all the models who turned their back on me and all the models and opportunities I have turned my back to recently.

Stories Of Photographers – Why Having Something To Say Is Important
Good photographers are storytellers.
Often the story of the photograph is not seen and interpreted by the viewer exactly as the photographer intended it, nevertheless a photographer without a story to tell is in deep trouble.
When I saw the kids on the above photo, I saw right away something interesting therefore picture worthy was happening. These kids had a short attention span and after one of them slid down on his belly on the Waikiki Beach Wall a couple of times they were gone.

Photographer Without Attention Span
Hello, my name is Ferenc. (Answer: Hello Ferenc …)
I am a photographer. And I have a short (an almost non existent attention span).
If there was a short attention span anonymous meeting that would be my introduction.
Being a photographer is a lot like being a hunter; often hours, days, weeks or more time passes until that split second decision is made which will decide if there will be dinner on the table.

Infamous Japanese Photographer Nobuyoshi Araki
A photo blog without photographs is not very interesting. The reason I have not been posting lately is because I am not doing photography while in Hawaii due to lack of good models and lack of inspiration.
In this post I will review a DVD titled Arakimentari which is about an extraordinary Japanese photographer named Araki.
Peaceful Photographers
Is people photography a violent art form? Is it true that (a part of) someone’s soul is stolen when a photograph is taken?
Is a “candid shot” just a nice photographic term for invasion of privacy?
That frozen moment when the shutter clicks will forever belong to the photographer and not the subject.
The answer is clear to me: if the person believes his or her soul is being stolen it is true (for that person). It is their soul therefore they have the right for that belief.

How to Obtain A Photographic Brain
The following information was a true “eye opener” for me:
Both the retina and the optic nerve grow from brain tissue during embryonic development.
Ref: What Human Eye Structure Is Part of the Brain?
Realizing that the retina and the optic nerve are actually brain tissue has been causing me less eye strain and increased brain activity – or so I hope :) during my photo sessions.

True Self Portrait Of A Lying Photographer
This photo is a self portrait (or snap shot) of me.
It shows exactly who was in front of my camera but it is not even close to who I am. Quite possibly a complete lie.
“There is no truth in photography. There is no truth about anyone’s person. My portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph.”
Richard Avedon

Become a Better Photographer DVD: Baraka
The word Baraka means “blessing” in several languages; watching the Baraka DVD the viewer is blessed with a dazzling barrage of images that transcend language.
Ways Of Seeing Like A Non-Fashion Model Photographer
For some time I have been looking through my camera as a fashion and model photographer.
There are different ways of seeing as a landscape, sports, still life, product, documentary, travel, etc. photographer.
Because it is time to widen my photographic horizons and experiment with different styles I have been practicing to unlearn some previous rigid ways of seeing and to learn some new ones.
Photographing boogie boarders on Waikiki Beach has always been a fun exception from the structured model photo shoots.

I Am The Best Photographer In The World!
I Am The Best Photographer In The World title might sound catchy or conceited but the real reason is far from me being full of myself.
So who is the best photographer in the world?
I am! … and if you are a fellow photographer … you are too!
Lately I have been experiencing serious doubt regarding weather or not I should continue with fashion and model photography.
