Part 5: Sending MySpace Friend Requests With Friend Blaster Pro
March 31, 2009
In this tutorial you’ll get familiar with the “Friend Requester” feature of Friend Blaster Pro.
Once you have your MySpace friend IDs gathered (see related tutorials) the next step is to invite those potential “MySpace friends with benefits” in other words friends who will be interested in your website, products and services.
This is done with using simple text files that Friend Blaster Pro stores your lists in.
Not only can you save those lists but you can share them or keep multiple copies of them for backup reasons – more on this later.

Here is the screenshot of the Friend Request tab, in this post we will go through the options of this feature which you will be using quite a bit during your networking.
Friend Requests Per Day
I set this number to somewhere between the mid 380’s to to 399. MySpace will not let you to send after a certain number but why wait for that nasty lock out warning message?
I think it is better to be pro-active by not constantly exceeding the daily allowed friend requests so you are not risking your profile being flagged or deleted by MySpace.
Add Friends To Updates
You can subscribe up to 2000 MySpace friends’ updates. If checked, this Friend Blaster Pro option adds profiles to your update list that you are sending friend requests to. I would recommend you leave this unchecked, I believe one should be more selective when deciding who gets added to their friend alerts (highest quality, most interesting etc.).
At this time you cannot even be sure if the member you are adding to your alerts is going to accept your friend request or become a valuable MySpace friend.
Show My Full Name With This Friend Request
If your full name entered under: Account Settings – Contact Information – First/Last Name is suitable, you should include it with friend requests.
It is a more personal approach also adds to the general feel that your request was sent by a human and not software.
Send A Short Note Along With Each Friend Request
Friend Blaster Pro has this great Twitter like feature which should be fully utilized! The 150 characters are plenty to make a good first impression.
I would stay away from ALL CAPS but limited use of caps can actually EMPHASIZE your point. Make this as friendly and casual as possible as opposed to a copy and paste sales pitch.
It is OK to include a URL to your site in this message, some people can get distracted by the busy design of some MySpace pages but these short messages are visually very easy to digest.
Send A Message From The “Auto messenger” After Each Friend Request
If you have message(s) saved under Auto messenger in Friend Blaster Pro, this option enables you to make the ultimate first impression.
Word of caution: make your initial email brief and casual, long contrived sales pitch like first messages are never received well. And by casual I mean as casual as: “great page, really enjoyed it, seems like we have a lot in common, best wishes …”
Another issue is that soem MySpace members have their CAPTCHA turned on for receiving messages so this Auto messenger option checked will increase the frequency of having to enter CAPTCHAs.
If you are processing a really high quality list of friends this can be a very useful added personal touch. For wide scope and less relevant friends lists this may be an overkill.
Delete Pending Requests
From this same Friend Requester window you can also mass delete pending friend requests (see bottom portion of the screen shot). You can select friend requests from which page(s) should be deleted. You cannot enter a range here i.e. pages 1-52, only one page at a time.
I personally do not use this because I really don’t care how many pending requests I have but it can be a good feature for some people.
Use Time Delay When Sending MySpace Friend Requests

I would advise to use the Time Delay feature of Friend Blaster Pro when adding friends, sending messages or commenting. With a fast internet connection and even a decent computer the average FBP user can easily send out 2-3 friend requests per second with Time Delay turned off (default setting).
That speed may sound extremely productive but it is far from the typical behavior of a human using MySpace.
If you wish to appear more human to MySpace and not like a software turn on Time Delay by going to: Options – Time Delay.
The image above shows the very simple interface of Time Delay. What is neat is that the time delay you set is not constant but you can specify a range if you wish for even more human like behavior.
