Russian Lingerie Model Photography On Abandoned Boat

An abandoned boat in the harbor of Antwerp, Belgium was the location for this fashion and lingerie modeling photoshoot.
Industrial locations offer a lot of great backgrounds, props, shapes and surprises making them perfect for creative and never boring photography sessions.
I have done other fashion and lingerie photoshoots with Russian born Angeline before, I love her edgy strong look and we have a good chemistry so our shoots are always fun as well.
I really like this first photo, the model is quite dominating, and the wheel provides a great shape and an interesting visual element.
With black and white images shapes and contrast is essential, I also was looking out not to have a really crowded background so the subject could stand out and have an impact.
These casual photos usually are created while we are switching setups and not even supposed to be captured but often times I witness really natural and not posed moments and I love to take advantage of them.
Besides the model’s nice figure and all the lines her limbs draw I also really liked those huge iron wheels and made sure they were incorporated into the background.
I usually don’t mix color and black and white images in the same post but since I have only a few images to show from this session I am making an exception.
The color version of the first photo conveys a less dramatic mood, I like both pictures and appreciate them for their differences. The time was late afternoon so the color of light was already getting warmer nicely illuminating the boat.
Besides making the best of every situation there is a lot of luck involved with every photoshoot.
Here I love the blue sky in the background and really appreciate that there were no buildings, power lines or other obstructions which would have made the backdrop more busy.
I always like photos which have a colorful subject in front of a colorless background.
Some photographers create this effect in Photoshop by desaturating all elements of the photo except the subject but I prefer to find these instances and capture them.
Smoking Russian bride in leather jacket … towards the end of the photoshoot things were getting out of control .. well, not really we just found a few empty bottles scattered around so we used them as props with the wedding dress Angelina brought with her.
I’d be lying if I said there is a clear point being communicated with this photo so no need to look for one.
The sun was about to set so the last few minutes of the day delivered really warm reddish light which nicely complimented the red hair of the mannequin.
