Recurrent fame for everyone.... in a most unconventional way....
As an artist and photographer I am interested in people. Andy Warhol's 15 minutes of fame forms the leading motive in my photographic projects. The accent lies on portrait and model photography.
Since my graduation from art school in 2000 I have been working as a photographer and expressive artist in Vlissingen, Zeeland, The Netherlands, where I’ve lost my hart to the sea which is only a footstep away from my studio.
The red line going through my work is offering platforms for recurrent fame.
All projects from the last years are made under the name: Starfactory Projects. Mind this: this is something that people will be talking about! You won’t be surprised to hear that Andy Warhol is my all time favourite hero.
In short it comes down to the idea that ordinary people from 2 to 96 years old can be raised to non everyday personalities. This concept I developed has already been released on shopping audience, clubbing audience, old-peoples homes and children in a youth crisis-centre. But mostly on normal ‘every-day-people’.
Therefore I’d like to introduce to you the new Homo Sapiens. No girls in authentic dresses but a POSTMODERN human being sprouted from the clay and sea!

MY ART and ART PROJECTS
Currently i work with lots of organic material in my art projects and i am planning on coming to the US in 4 to 5 months and do an art project and try to finish up with an exhibition.
I had several national and international by the press well received exhibitions with good reviews.

Motivation and plans
For my art project in the United States I want to aim at people who live in Los Angeles and Hollywood. This in continuation qua working method as written down in the ‘Artistic and in substance starting points’. The Art Project is going to be called: ‘Starfactory Projects: Organic Lust’
Through my artistic starting points I wondered myself ‘What is the capitol of the world’ when it comes to being or wanting to be famous?’ The Logical answer to this question seemed Los Angeles. Since I started with art school in 1996 and from my graduation in 2000 till now I have been inspired by Warhol to offer the ‘Platforms for recurrent fame in an unconventional way’.
For the last 7 years I realized several large art projects with a large quantity of contestants and over 15 volunteers like graphic designers, stylists and make-up artists. I want to do an art project in your city that unveils the secrets of ‘How to become famous’. I think that behind the thin line the glitterous world of the potential ‘rich and famous’ lies a whole other world. Its that world I want to uncover. I want to approach normal everyday residents of Los Angels and make portraits of this people with my own working method and by that way try to pierce their lifestyle. I want to try to find out and tell in pictures what it is what is keeping these people busy.
To join you during a longer period and deepen myself in your culture and way of thinking. The catching of reflections, thoughts and ambitions are going to be one of the most important aims.

Because I know all museums and art-related organisations do their programming until at least the next year. So I want to do this art project in two steps. One: arrive in Los Angels, get set up and start with the project and work on this project for about 4 months. After the project is finished I go back to The Netherlands and I start to process all the material and work towards a presentation through an exhibition and a book. Than you can decide if and when to make an exhibition in the course of next year.
Its possible for me to start with this project as soon as I find an organisation and exhibition room who wants to work with me. We could plan an exhibition and book presentation for 2008. But of course thats if you are interested in doing this art project with me.
What do I ask from an art organisation or gallery?
I do not ask for funding but I need help with searching for a living- and working place and perhaps access to a good computer that runs Photoshop and that can be used for data-storage. Also I would like a contact person who wants to think with me on making this art project a big success.
Al my former projects in Holland have successfully been finished with good reviews and articles from several national newspapers and national television.
Also many Dutch celebrities worked with me on an auction for Children Cancer Funding (KiKa) and we made a book.
After the art project ‘Starfactory Projects: Organic Lust’ is finished we can work towards an exhibition when it suits you in your programming and of course when you feel the works that have been made measure up to your standards If possible also exhibitions in other places. For instance public places.
What do I have to offer an art organisation or gallery?
I work very hard to try to become one of the best in my field as an artist therefor I want to work with the a very creative and enthusiastic organisation possible in your county.
Therefor I offer you a good concept and innovative art project, someone who is willing to invest lots of time and creativity and tries to aim for the highest goal: a successful exhibition with lots of visitors and a high artistic quality.
During my last projects I gave monthly lectures about art and modern day photography. Lots of people attended these lectures. I am willing to offer this service. Also I am willing to participate in cultural and educational programs by offering artistic programs to schools and cultural organisations by participation of your organisation.
