Magatheme is a classy, clean white, minimalistic 3-column Wordpress theme. It is widget-ready customizable with a cool magazine look.
One nice feature is the incredible 6 sidebars: Wide, Left, Right, Left Footbar, Mid Footbar, Right Footbar.
I love the versatility and how easy it is to use Wordpress (this blog is a WP blog as well) and I am a big fan of clean, attractive user friendly themes / designs. Smart design is key to have a popular blog or a blog which people want to return to.
I sometimes see blogs with great content which took a shortcut on design which is unfortunate.
Another quick Wordpress related tip is to find a right web host (I use Site5 Hosting) one that is able to handle the traffic blogs experience, i.e. being Stumbled or Digged or the fact that the pages are not static HTML but PHP.
