Black And White Photos Of Italian – Middle Eastern Bikini Model
June 7, 2004
These photos are from one my first model photoshoots but even that is not accurate because the Italian – Persian beauty is a first time model which actually makes her a non-model.
Now there is nothing wrong with that because I love to photograph people with no prior modeling experience.
Not every time but when things work out amateur models can give the photographer the greatest gift: their intelligence, natural beauty, personality in other words a story to tell.
The location for this photoshoot was Diamondhead Beach, a popular, picturesque and sparsely visited beach just a few minutes walk away from the sardine can like Waikiki beach.
Our model’s figure is the reason bikini was invented, she also has a ton of energy and a great personality without any hint of being stuck up. Therefore the photoshoot was off to a good start.
Everyone knows stretching is good for the body! The exotic look of the model beautifully flows together with the exotic scenery of the bleached roots and the rock wall of the extinct volcano.

The warm Hawaii trade winds blow thorough the wild hair of the model. It took me a long time to ween of tilting the camera for every modeling photo. It does work sometimes but for some photographers angled horizons become an obsession.

Texture and shape! The Italian – Middle Eastern background and look of the model is in complete harmony with the sand stone wall. The pose is graceful and slightly athletic resulting in a beautiful body and face profile photo.
In situations where natural movement is key models with alreay some experience often dish out their cookie cutter / signature poses which often look rehearsed and completely unnatural.

Symmetry is beauty! The gentle waves of the Pacific Ocean crashing into our exotic bikini model does help the visual experience as well.

If you got it flaunt it! The wild exotic messed up hair adds great visual excitement and a refreshing departure from the silicon breasted blond bimbo bikini model cliche.

Varying the composition, angles, backgrounds, format is key when something eye catching appears in the view finder. There no rules sometimes the first sometimes the last and sometimes frames in between turn out to be the keepers. I try to concentrate to keep the background not too busy but interesting enough to aid in the storytelling.

Everything is constantly changing and sometimes all or just enough elements fall into place to have a good photo. On this picture the hair fell just in the right place and a wave is breaking in the distance drawing a nice white lining on the horizon.

Angling the body and the creation of diagonal lines adds drama and excitement and is in accordance with the Rule Of Thirds, The Golden Ration and the Fibonacci Number. Not rules written in stone but useful guidelines.

Perhaps not classic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition pose but a natural one therefore a one of a kind unique moment captured here.

A natural pose, if I should even call this a pose. Just a nice quiet intimate moment while waves breaking in the background and yes, I am tilting the camera again.

A dead fallen tree is a must use prop and the background is picture perfect. Being so new at model photography I was tilting the camera and angling the horizon on instinct when it looked good.
Comparing the next two photos it will make perfect sense why and when I would tilt and not tilt and why.

The model’s beautiful athletic figure looks dynamic, strong but feminine. Once again the diagonal lines created by the tree trunk and the body create excitement and drama.
There is little if any acting present because the experience of being on a stunning location automatically sets the mood for the model and for the photos.

Some women are just natural “posers” and make it look effortless, besides the enviable bikini model body they have intelligence and confidence. This becomes painfully apparent when a photographer faces the opposite end of the spectrum in a self conscious, spoiled model.
Being so new at model photography I most likely gave little or no directions but we had chemistry. We motivated and inspired each other while having fun .. ingredients for every photographer’s dream model / photoshoot.

Now we are really in the realm of complete improvisation, is it s pose, is it a moment of a dance? Once again the mixed Italian Persian ethnicity of the model adds depth ad authenticity to the photo (another anti-Hawaiian Tropics genre sentiment).

Cute, innocent, dreamy? A natural moment nevertheless.

Even during one of my first photoshoots I was drawn to intimate, personal expressive portraits.
If the essence of this exotic girl needs to be summed up I believe this portrait does a nice job achieving it.

These pictures are amazing. I’m actually trying to become a model, but I have’nt exactly figured out what kind though.
This model looks very nice. Something about the
Italian woman that brings something out in being in black I myself am a fashiond designer.
Matted Black is a theme color of mine…very contemporary. Very Nice model. A plain simple black bikini looks very nice. It reminds me of
the seventies. Very nice model5♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
