Asian Lingerie, Fashion Model In Waikiki Zanzabar Night Club
Jenny is one of my most favorite Asian models to photograph in Hawaii and because she is a Go-Go dancer at the famous Zanzabar Night Club in Waikiki she arranged for us to get access to do a photoshoot before opening.
Jenny she has an amazing face, just stunning, she can look very different from different angles and under varying lighting conditions.
The night club was still closed and a bit dark inside so only a Nikon flash unit was assisting with illumination.
Having the flash unit attached to the camera has advantages besides it’s obvious disadvantages. I like to utilize the harshness of the light coming from the flash, to me it has a paparazzi like intrusive effect adding realism and drama to the photos.
Here Jenny’s beautiful face is being framed by a vibrant white and red trucker hat and her cascading hair. The professional makeup completes the color palette. The lips are sensual, the look is seductive and because of the shadow under the hat’s visor the photo gains drama as well.
Another version with the trucker hat, the shiny background is courtesy of the Waikiki Zanzabar Night Club’s restroom. I love to do location scouting let it be indoors or outdoors and discover a variety of possibilities for interesting compositions or backgrounds.
Making the best of what is available is one of the most challenging but favorite part of photography for me.
This time the flash is bouncing off of the shiny walls of the toilet nicely filling in the dark shadowy area under the hat creating a completely different beauty effect from the previous photo’s drama.
There is something uber-exotic about Asian lingerie model photos, here Jenny strikes a relaxed pose with attitude looking a bit like a hot bouncer.

A bit wider shot from the previous portrait photo with model sitting on the dance floor of the Waikiki Zanzabar Night Club. The lines that the model’s legs create are nicely juxtaposed against the lines of the dance floor tiles.
I love to shoot models from above; while looking up the eyes become animalistic and wild.
Switching to red lingerie and red sparkling Go-Go dancer shoes, model is striking a pose laying down in the open booth which is on the side of the dance floor. The painted wall provides an excellent, eye-catching background.
Exotic Asian model in red lingerie. Growing up in communist Hungary I never thought I would one day celebrate the color red in this fashion.
A closely cropped (in camera) sensual beauty shot utilizing soft focus. Many great shapes and lines can be discovered in this photo, the viewer’s eyes have an easy access to roam around the picture.
We are back in the restroom of Zanzabar Night Club just to illustrate that the best models a have sense of humor and open minds. Here we are using a dirty smelly bathroom mop (showbiz is not always glamour)!
Theme: hot Asian janitor. I love to improvise in this manner; of course before I arrived to the club I had no idea that these props and locations would present themselves.
These discoveries and decisions make my photoshoots a lot of fun! Many thanks to Jenny for putting up with something so off-putting and delivering a nice photo.
Party like a rockstar! Jenny was a great model, not the stuck up type for sure. Singing into a dirty bathroom mop … there is a first time for everything!
