Visitor Statistics Of Ferenc Ecseki Photography With Google Analytics

This article is not a detailed and complete review of Google Analytics, just a list of reports I actually look at.
I will list some very useful features of Analytics which can aid in improving site design therefore visitor experience and can help with better knowing your visitors for marketing and for various other reasons.

All Website Traffic - Average Of All Data

29,090 Visits - average 290 visits per day and 10,000 per month
80,474 Pageviews
2.77 Pages/Visit
54.05% Bounce Rate - half the visitors left my website without clicking on another pages
00:04:17 Avg. Time on Site - I like this number especially because it is an average (unless people just left my site open in their browser and went to the mall)
91.00% % New Visits - it is nice to have some return visitors
26,748 Absolute Unique Visitors - this number comes from 91% of the total 29,090 Visits

Website Traffic From Search Engines

The bounce rate from search engines is lower, the Pages/Visit is higher than the site average which is a good sign.

Total of 522 different websites have referred visitors! This is fantastic, a very high number!

Image searches (especially Google image search) account for a high percentage of site traffic. These are images in my blog posts not in my albums. The albums are flash galleries therefore cannot be spidered (seen) by search engines.
The websites of countless photographers are 100% flash which look very professional and cool but they are completely invisible to search engines. Looking at these numbers makes it clear: flash websites are not search engine friendly!
I decided to design my website using flash and image files - a happy medium in my opinion.

Traffic Sources By Keywords

Just during the past 3 months my website was found by searching for 5,928 different keywords!!!
This number is amazing to me!

This list is helpful to determine what visitors search for to find my website and to gauge what Google thinks my website is about.
These keywords are exactly what my blog was designed to be about so I am happy with these results!
(I have not been able to figure out why I am in the search results for “michael howard photography” … those words are not in my website … anywhere)

Top Landing Pages

Out of the total 29,090 visits 13,955 landed on my homepage via 937 different URLs.
The list of landing pages is very useful to find out how visitors arrived to my website and to examine most which pages are the most “attractive” content.

One post (besides my homepage) truly stands out and is getting a lot more visitors then any other page.
It just happens to contain a sexy Hawaiian rainforest swimsuit model photo.

This photo is consistently in the top 5 Google image search results often in the No 1 position for keywords like swimsuit, swimsuit model, hawaii swimsuit model, hawaii model, hawaii swimsuit, etc.

The excellent online visibility of this one photo brought 3,252 visitors to my website in 99 days!
