I have been asked many times how I built this blog. WordPress is one of the best platforms for blogs, it is easy to use with tons of features. Getting a domain name and web hosting are the first two steps (HostGator is an affordable choice).
When deciding on a domain name my advice is to keep it short and simple.

Also remember your e-mail address will end with your domain name so keeping it short and to the point is a good idea.
